Stuartopia! The history books will tell you that the Stuart King James II fled Great Britain in 1688. He wasn't particularly popular and then his wife gave birth to a son who was to be brought up a Catholic. That has been said to be the chief reason for the move to depose him. It's called 'The Glorious Revolution'. In his place on the throne came the Dutch William of Orange (William III) and his wife Mary, who was a daughter of the fleeing King. But what if events had taken a different path? |
